DAYDREAMING ON THE CROW LAKE, Croatia, Dalmatia
78My country is so beautiful that my hearth can only sing whenever I travel around Croatia. On Saturday I visited georgeous peacefull Crow Lake (Vrana Lake) which is situated in Dalmatia county , between towns Zadar and Sibenik. Vrana Lake is sorrunded by small hills from inner side and from another side, you can see tiny line of well indented coast and inviting misterious beauty of sparkling Adriatic sea with many charming islands.
Vrana Lake (Crow Lake) is the largest natural lake in Croatia, is protected as Park of the Nature and is also one of the almost intact natural habitats of waterbirds. Here lives 241 recorded bird species.
On one side you will see the Adriatic coast, famous for its inviting beauty and clean sea, and on the other side you will see the largest natural lake in Croatia.
Enjoy with me pictures of the view on Vrana Lake and Adriatic see from one of the small hills - Kamenjak (Stone Hill).

On the heal Kamenjak (Stone Hill) is 2006. build church and house in traditional style (future restaurant).
Here you can take rest in total piece sorrunded just with sounds of the nature, songs of birds and seagulls, while enjoying extraordinary beauty of this romantic area.
This church has one very spooky detail, it is build above the 57m (cca 170 feet) deep cave, where are found human bones - left from the World War II. Inside the church, you can see this cave protected by metal fence.
Old Roman Road
Up to the hill Kamenjak, leads at least 2000 years old Roman road.
This area was inhabited 2000 years B.C, and old Roman roads are just parts of its rich history, wich secrets are hidden somewhere in the woods and silent stones.

Tatjana: I enjoyed getting a peek at your side of the world, how beautiful! Loved the churches, not that I am religious, loved the structure, the stones-
Love your new avatar!
Croatia is not like I imagined at all, don't know what I thought , but you have given the insight , both visually and audibly , into a totally new world. Thank you so much.
Beautiful country ! Thanks for sharing
I love this dear. You are so fortunate to see such beauty. Loved the old church. Simply wonderful photography girl, stunning views and I would love to se all of those birds too. The most beautiful view here is the first, you sitting on the rocks, You are very gorgeous and the best of your surroundings. Very beautiful to behold!
I think that ralwus has said it all. You live in a truly beautiful country Tatjana. Thank you for sharing it's wonders with us.
Best wishes, TOF.
The beauty, landscape and nature of Croatia is more breathtaking than I imagined. I especially loved the lake. I appreciate you sharing your beautiful home land, and some of its history and culture.
Thank you for taking me on the peaceful journey with your pictures and videos.
Keep shining your light so brightly..
Always nice to see such great pics from a place I may never actually see in person. Thanks for sharing Tatjana!
I can see how one could fall into daydreaming being surrounded by such beauty as in your country. Thanks Tatjana for bringing Croatia more to life on my side of the world.
Tanechka, breath taking views, love them. :) And love your new profile pic too - so cute :)
I am around - but not that active as I used to be. Missed you too - hence the visit :)
Oh, thank you Tanechka, I am quite well. :) Just pretty busy with the recent move to a new house aftermath, and preparation to travelling to Russia and Uzbekistan, to show kids to relatives :) At the same time I am trying to limit my time on HP, cause it si really a kind of addiction :)
Your country looks so beautiful. I would love to visit it some day and wander about here as you have shared with us! Thanks!
I miss that region very much, and I long to return. I was in Macedonia most of the time I was in the Balkans and the 90's were not exactly a good time to be traveling in the region. Soon, I want to return, and travel along the Croatian Coast, as well as visit the friends that I made in the region. It is a beautiful, and ancient part of the world and a must see for anyone.
I think which I looked was the most beautful in my life!
Tatjana, thanks for sharing part of your wonderful country with all of us. Lake Vrana is incredibly beautiful. It's amazing, the old Roman Road, the history, and fantastic scenery. I played the music and had to go back and view your excellent photos again with the music playing which makes your pictures all the more beautiful.
Your country is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I would so love to visit there. I did not realize how beautiful it was there. I could write a thousand things if I were to live there. Thanks Tatjana (p.s. you are just beautiful and seem so very happy) -hugs-
It is so breathtakingly beautiful and as I browsed through your photos I could feel peace stealing over my being. I like that a lot :-)
Tatjana
I cannot blame you if your heart always breaks out in a song - that lake is such a natural wonder! And great pictures, too! Thanks for sharing :D
I like watching some films on tv about fable of godes, and i think the places like on the films were not real. But your pics say they are really natural, beautiful, and inspiring. Whoa...can i visit there ? Hmmm....
I can already tell that each of your hubs is going to be a visual pleasure as well as learning something new about a part of the world that I have never seen. Love how you incorporate the rocks into the photos. And the people building homes and churches using the natural surrounding ingredients........nice! The famous architect from this part of the world (Frank Lloyd Wright) would have definitely approved! Thanks for another enjoyable hub.
Tatjana, you r country is indeed beautiful. I have been there and hope to go again. Also I have Bosnian and Croatian friends. I also enjoyed your poem. It is smple and beautiful. keep up the writing. Who knows. Maybe you will be Dalmatia's Shakespeare!
tatjana, you have brought this wonderful place to life! believe me, if i visit your homeland, 'crow lake' will surely be on my agenda. i spent three years studying art in various parts of europe and left in 1993. i never passed on a chance at experiencing roman ruins. thank you for your kind words on my hub writing. peace in your soul tatjana...ciao! - greg z

Hi Tanja, when I saw the title, I expected to see some great pictures, and I did! That "traditional house build from stones" is really fantastic.I would like to build one like that someday.
Thank you very much for showing us that part of the world. :)
